Rene Jensen (centipede)
Category:Developer
Location:Denmark, Vinstrup
Birthday:Oct 5 1974
Type:project contract, part time employee, freelancer
Homepage:http://chemicalmutantman.com
Education:1996-1998: AP graduate computer specialist from Roskilde School of Business. I focused on technical software (realtime systems and compiler theory). My final project was to implement a software render engine.

1999-2000: Shortly attended math and latin at The University of Copenhagen for exactly one year. I know ordinary linear algebra like it is used in game programming.
Experience:2007-2009: Dansk Minkpapir. Lowlevel driver code for industrial purposes. Firmware programming for Atmel microprocessors. Cross platform development for Arm processors. Protocol and network programming.
With this background I can assist with managing build systems and cross platform development and I have much experience with developing in-house graphical tools fast.

2009-2009: Tharsis & Minions of Steel. In my spare time I am currently creating particle effects on two different indie RTS styled games. They both use Ogre, and a plugin called Particle Universe for effects. I ammended the scripting language with highlevel constructs (symbol table, iteration etc.) using knowledge about compilers/interpretators and some quick Python scripting.

2007-2009: Regular DVD-artist at Danish fanzine “Bathos” by author Erwin Neutzsky-Wulff. I have made many DVD labels and menus. We also worked together to make two small 3D games.
During that time I had a chance to use my skills with the free graphics engines Ogre and Irrlicht in addition to shader programming. I have a fairly good grasp of making something look good instead of merely applying popular algorithms.

2008-2009: Volunteer work for two NGO groups – FAIR Denmark and Seniors without Borders – with whom I made a system to register PC's and clean their harddrives, ensuring that the donated computers contain no sensitive information before shipment to Africa.
Once again it proved useful with the rapid application development / agile programming approach to finish a low (zero) budget job as fast as possible.

2006-2008: Running a company offering 3D visualizations for the Internet based on a 3D software rasterizer in Java.

2002-2005: Freelancing for companies. During this period I was also semi active in various open source circles. Among other things I commenced a GPU-based texture paint tool.
Thus I have detailed knowledge of OpenGL and its intrinsical workings, e.g. buffer objects and render-to-texture.

1999-2002: Custom made SQL database for Dansk EDB Satscentrum.

1998-1999: Web based java programming. GUI-work, 3D game programming etc.
