 Power Options

Score 50%

First let me thank the owners for this menu, it looks and works great.

I had to modify my Power options to get the power button to work for version 2.22.1.1
in my GnoMenuSettings.xml I had to change the power line from

gnome-session-save --shutdown-dialog

to

gnome-session-save --kill

All is fine now I am running ubuntu 64bit Hardy.

 Extra Menu Items

by dugc on: Jan 21 2009

Score 50%

I installed gnomenu today - very nice - thanks. I have it set up just how I want it, except...
I have two extra items in the menu which have the default icon: "settings" and "system settings". The "Settings" menu goes settings->components->KDE Resources. The "System Settings" menu goes System Settings->Advanced->Advanced User Settings->KDE Resources. If I click KDE resources it loads an app titled "Configure - KDE Control module". I used KDE a while back but don't use it any more. Those items don't appear in the KDE4 menu editor and the item seems to be a KDE3 app. They do not appear in the gnome menu editor. If I remove all menu items in gnome menu editor, those two still appear.

Any idea how to get rid of them? They are right at the top and are really annoying!

Just in case anyone else has strange extra entries showing up in their menu, this is how I sorted the problem:

If you go to the folder /etc/xdg/menus and search for the relevant menu entries in the files you should be able to identify the <menu></menu> section that is showing up, and delete it (as root). Backup these files first, of course.

I found that kde-settings.menu and system-settings.menu were to blame.

Well, it seems amazing that bar but when i try to install it, it does not work.

When i go to see in "add to bar" it does not appear, i do not know what to do.

If you can to explain me step by step. well, that could help me.

Is it possible to change the font size? It's too small and it's hard to read anything.
