No, sadly. Not with the script nor with sudo make install.

Here are the errors, first with the script, then with sudo make install. I hope it can be of some use.

Pah. Seems like I messed up something as simple as extracting the program. Sorry.

One thing though - my panel buttons are a bit mashed. How do I fix that?

 Cant configure

by bkmo on: Nov 13 2008

Score 50%

The install on ubuntu hardy went just fine. Adding to panel and most operations of the menu are working. I cannot configure it though. If I click preferences, a window pops up for a split second titled menu settings, then dies. Also what does the button next to the logout lock do.

Thanks for the update, I am sure we can get this sorted out.

Thanks, will give it a test now. I have a couple other issues here: one is that clicking the button opens the menu, a second click does not close it. I have to click on a window to close the menu. Another is I get an OAFIID error on boot and have to delete config data and place it on the panel again. Also not a bug but a feature request to get the menu working on the windows (Super L) key.

Thanks,
Brian

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10, needed to add a few apps mostly deskbar-applet and friends. It also doesn't seem to like being used in a top panel, works like a charm in a bottom panel though. How does a person change the theme? Can't figure that one out :)

Question: How do I uninstall and delete the install files from "make install"?

Thanks and keep up the good work :)

Try make uninstall. According to the makefile there is an uninstall option

Makefile: Available actions: install, uninstall

 Proposed change

by bkmo on: Nov 13 2008

When I select "connect to server" the network settings program opens but I cannot unlock or configure it. There are errors in the terminal output. By changing the command to:
<Command Action="Network Config" Exec="network-admin"/>

without the gksu command, it opens the network settings correctly.

You are correct.....of course you are.

I used the settings from the Vista version because I have no nm-connection-manager on my system. I am using WICD and have not figured out how to get the gui from the commandline yet.

Can you make the menu "close" by clicking the button? Only the state of the button changes, but the menu is still open.

your screenlets are really great!

GnoMenu lost all menu items aftersome hours of working with it.

restarting doesn't work, .ie GnoMenu dies.
