This is frontend for various commandline media encoders, namely ffmpeg, ffmpeg2theora and mencoder.
It has the following features:

- Batch conversion

- Profile support (a file with profiles is included)

- can be used from filemanager context menus (a service menu for konqueror is included)

- it can also be used as a graphical manpage, as the gui prints the commands before executing, so you can edit them if you want.

REQUIREMENTS :
--------------

gtk2 (libgtk2)
ffmpeg
ffmpeg2theora
mplayer

INSTALLATION :
--------------

generic download (all distros):
-------------------------------
1) get the generic binary download
2) unpack the archive
3) execute ./installer.sh as root
4) copy ./.hyperconf into your $HOME folder

debian & friends:
-----------------
1) get the Debian download
2) unpack archive

4) copy ./.hyperconf into your $HOME folder

suse:

NOTE: the rpm package is completely untestet as I don't have suse or other rpm distro. If it doesn't work use the generic download.

the download marked as '.deb' above contains the debian package. I have put it into an archive because I wanted to include a readme file with installation instructions.

 I'm sorry I can't download it

I googled for hours and I found this tool. It seems exactly what I want from the screen shots. I want to try it out, but when I download the source, I'm always getting the "time out" error.

Could someone email a copy to me, please? My address is could.net@gmail.com

 Even better

This new version is more user friendly than the old one, but it is also larger (FreePascal/Lazarus is good but their executables are quite large). IMHO the side-image on the old version looked more professional, but that is just the aesthetics. Keep up the good work!

I have registered a sourceforge project now and will host it there, then the problems should be resolved hopefully.

I will have this done by this evening and will also upload a qt-version of the program.

I'm really sorry for this, but it seems to be hard to find reliable webspace...

I recommended this to several friends of mine, all of them think it's a wonderful tool.

I have a feature request, for mencoder, can the "-ss xx:xx:xx -endpos xx:xx:xx" be included, please?

 ffmpeg and mp3

Just wanted to say, great app--does exactly what it says it does. I've been looking for something to convert videos that is simple and straight forward. Also, the pre-sets are incredibly helpful. I did have on question: It seams that some versions of ffmpeg need -acodec libmp3lame and not -acodec mp3. If the latter is used, ffmpeg throws this error: Unknown encoder 'mp3'. was wondering if the pre-sets could be changed to pass libmp3lame to ffmpeg instead of just mp3. I know its trivial to change manually, but sometimes I add a bunch of files and forget to change it and walk away, only to come back and have to do it again. Otherwise fantastic and simple converter.
