 bug

 by drxnele on: Jan 21 2008

hi I found bug... when day 0 icon is not available screenlet does nothing because weather.com sends "-" in this case for icon... but in code is used int("-") in this case...

this can be fixed by adding this line:

if weather[0]["icon"]=="-": weather[0]["icon"]="48"

before this line:
icon = str(self.get_icon(int(weather[0]["icon"])) )

and you must rename "na.png" or something like that to "48.png" and then works fine...
this might be bug for other days too... so add lines for other days too...

 ZIP CODE ?

Nice work here!

The only thing is... I can't figure out what format I need to put in the ZIP CODE area in order to make it work from my town!

The default says : USNY0996

I live in Quebec, Canada

I tried a couple of combinations, like :
- CYQB
- Quebec, Canada
- Quebec
- CAQC????

What can I do?

lol, before I asked my question, I went on weather.com and tried to enter my zip code in the search box, and since our zip codes here in Canada are different from those of the US, the website tells me this :
"No items found."

I can find my city when I enter "Quebec" in the search box.. I can see the weather, but it doesn't tell the famous CODE I need...

ugh! Guess what?

I went on weather.com again in the hope of finding the precious code I need, and I noticed this thing in the address bar of my web browser :

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/local/CAXX0385?from=search_city

The code I need is here, CAXX0385? !!!

Nice, now I can appreciate your screenlet on my desktop! New York weather was cool, but showing my city is more useful to me ;)

 Chamonix, France

The Zip Code for Chamonix, France, doesn't seem to work. The code should be FRXX0212, but entering this code gives a clear screenlet without any icons or text in it. Any ideas, on how to get this working?
