 no icon in screelnet-manager

by drxnele on: Mar 16 2009

Score 50%

name of screenlet must be
FolderName+Screelnet.py

example SysMonitorPlusScreenlet.py needs to be renamed to SysMonitorPlus0.6Screenlet.py

or rename folder to SysMonitorPlus (without 0.6)

 SysMonitorPlus0.7 not working

by darkhack on: Mar 17 2009

This is an awesome screenlets. The sad thing is I tried getting sysmonitorplus0.7 to work on my ubuntu "intrepid" system, but the screenlets never show up in manager, even when I extract the package and move it to /.screenlets.

The strange thing is I got it working by running the sysmonitorplus0.7.py. Oh the screenlets version on my system is 0.1.2. So anyway, is there a way I can get this working or will there be another release with fixes?

Thanks

it isn'n in manager because *.py file name isn't equal to its folder name... i explained it in previous post...

you can do 2 things:
1)
rename folder and screenlet py file to
SysMonitorPlus and SysMonitorPlusScreenlet.py

or
2)
rename folder and screenlet py file to
SysMonitorPlus0.7 and SysMonitorPlus0.7Screenlet.py

then it will be shown in manager...

 Great, but...

I love this screenlet but it loses my preferences every time I reboot. I'm now getting tired of configuring it. Any idea what the problem is? I'm running Ubuntu 8.10...
Should it save a config file in $HOME/.screenlets/SysMonitorPlus/ ?

This is a known bug of all screenlets.

Solution: You must configure the settings on this screenlet and then you have to click on "Re-Start All" in Screenlets Manager. And now is your settings saved.

Thanks. It works now. Clicking on start/stop for SysMonitorPlus also works to save the settings.

One more weird thing though: If I select a graph for "net" then everything below "Ext IP" disappears from the screenlet... Disabling the graph brings it all back...

After "restarting all" it started to remember its settings but there is still a bug.

it comes "kept above" by default. i tried to edit ini file manually but it's still "above":)

anyway, its a great screenlet. ty..

Hi,

You must set in Screenlets Manager - click on the "Options" and there set the settings for all screenlets ;-)

Nothing helped me....
I can't make it remember that it needs to 'Stick to Desktop'. I even edited the config file manually, but it keeps ignoring it. The applet-specific settings (zip code, set of sensors, network stats) are saved fine.
Where does it keep the old settings so that it capable of overwriting the new ones? Cash? Is it possible to clean it?
