 conkyforecast

I think the best part of this script is that you can get weather forecast without the conkyforecast package which is hard to find.

But I would appreciate if you can suggest a solution to the black background that has been keeping me from using conky for about year and switching to my-weather-indicator under Ubuntu.

This conky uses curl to display the weather so yeah it´s very convenient :)
As for the black background...

Try to manipulate the "own_window_type" line.
Try out various values ( normal/dock/conky/no/desktop..)
Try using "own_window_argb_visual yes".

Also make sure you have a composite manager enabled!Since your are on ubuntu(assuming unity) you should have it enabled.
If you are using gnome-shell then the problem could be that nautilus is not the one rendering the desktop.

Thank you.
Under Ubuntu 13.04 with Unity and Compiz, I can achieve conky transparency by adding a command like "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri file:///home/me/Pictures/background.jpg" several seconds after starting conky with "own-window-type" value set as "override".

Even this stopped working with my custom conky weather forecast configuration based on conkyforecast package.

But I'm glad that it now works again with yours.
Now I need to customize it to create a top-right positioned sidebar with weather forecasts for 2 or 3 cities (using your other conky scripts as well ;-)

 Works with Conky Manager

I'm using 14.04 and like using Conky Manager so I had to make a few adjustments.
1. Create a folder called Vision.
2. Sub folders I created config and fonts folder to match resemble the other Conky configs.
3. Copy either the celcuis or farenhiet config file and rename it vision. Placed it in the config folder of the new Vision directory you made. Don't forget to update the WOEID!
4. Copy the fonts into your new fonts folder you made.
5. Copy the hidden conky-vision-icons folder to your home folder.
6. Copy your new Vision folder with its contents to the theme folder of conky-manager.
7. You should be able to activate it through Conky Manager now.

There might be an easier way to do this, but this worked for me.
