Description:

OpenFracas is a free, open-source game that is similar in style to Risk. On randomly generated and customizable maps, humans are pitted against other humans and AIs in an attempt to eliminate all other players or teams.

OpenFracas is dedicated to the continuation of the game Fracas.

If you have any questions or comments, you can also visit our forum at http://forums.openfracas.org
or on Launchpad https://launchpad.net/openfracas/

To run from source
OpenFracas is written in Ruby. To run the game, type `ruby ./Main.rb` from the top-level directory for the source.

OpenFracas requires ruby >= 1.8, ruby/gtk, sdl-ruby (with mixer support) and libglade2-ruby >= 0.16 in order to run. Exact package names may vary depending on your distribution.

Changelog:

0.6.1
-Bug Fixes
* Crash when selecting a replacement capital.
* Crash (Segmentation fault) in Ubuntu 8.10 after generating a custom map.

Ubuntu 8.10 users may still encounter instability with OpenFracas 0.6.1 due to another bug in the "libcairo-ruby" package. I am addressing this issue via a bug report on Launchpad

0.6
-New Map/Game file format.
* Save and resume maps and games
* Edit saved games in the map editor

0.5
-Sounds and Music
-OpenFracas now supports up to 8 players
-New troop count drawing algorithm
* Better placement of troop counts
* Scales troop counts to fit within smaller country
-Options to restart a game or reuse the current map
-Streamlined User Interface
-Map Editor improvements
-More player colours to choose from
-Help documentation, revised from the original Fracas help, now available.

A really wonderful implementation! Thank you, this will spend me some chilly hours :)

I think you should get your project on https://launchpad.net/:
bug and code management, repository, Questions/Answers etc. and i would like to help with translating...

regards
lukeen
